Jozan rugs are produced in central, western Persia. They bear the characteristic marks of Saruk rugs and are generally made in small sizes. The knotting is firm and regular, and most patterns are rustic and mimic classical Persian patterns. Warp and weft are cotton, and the pile is wool. A wide range of colours is used, but the rugs always appear calm and balanced.
